Every VAECAI bag is a testament to the art of handcrafting. A process that cannot be rushed, and results that speak for themselves.
We source full-grain leathers from renowned tanneries. Togo for structure, Epsom for refinement, Swift for softness, Clemence for natural character. Each hide is inspected by hand before cutting.
Our master cutters examine each hide for grain consistency and imperfections. Patterns are placed to maximize beauty and durability. No two bags are exactly alike — that is the nature of genuine leather.
Every seam is saddle-stitched by hand using waxed linen thread. A technique that creates a stronger, more beautiful seam than any machine. If one stitch breaks, the rest hold firm.
Edges are beveled, sanded, painted, and burnished by hand — multiple coats, each allowed to dry before the next. The result: smooth, durable edges that age gracefully.
Brass hardware is polished, plated, and individually set. Each rivet and clasp is secured by hand and tested for strength and smooth operation.
Every bag undergoes a rigorous 20-point inspection before leaving our atelier. Stitching, edges, hardware, alignment — only perfection passes.
